Geo Compliance is a methodology utilized by Baseline Business Geographics Inc. that combines asset management and compliance processes, such as field audits and inspections, with Location Intelligence principles. The policy and standards compliance audit process for distributed assets, such as business sites, business units, properties and retail locations is automated to manage the workflow of field resource and inspection activity scheduling, as well as the results analysis, with the utilization of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and mobile technology, creating an efficient management system. Organizations with distributed retailer or site networks achieve store-level compliance with operational, sales and security standards to minimize risks and maximize sales.
When we say “Location Intelligence,” we’re referring to the combination of spatial data (captured via GIS) and business data to gain insight into a specific organization and enhance business operations.
Our solutions use Location Intelligence to analyze relationships within your business data and use maps as visual tools for viewing, communicating and evaluating information.
Baseline has made it easier for our staff to collect information in the field and is saving hours of data entry time when they return to the office. It has vastly improved the efficiency of our staff.
GBM Data Services
GBM Data Services supports wireless data transfer between mobile computers and office based desktop systems. With GBM Data Services, mobile computer operators can use wireless LAN or a mobile phone network to upload field observations into an office-based database and to refresh mobile data content.
GBM Data Services is offered as a companion product to GBM Mobile and GBM Portable customers.
The practical advantages of a GBM Data Services implementation include:
- Wireless data transfer means that field personnel no longer need to return to the office to collect work instructions or upload field observations. Productivity is increased and travel expenses reduced.
- Data uploads and downloads operate automatically through pre-defined profiles. This streamlines day-to-day operations, yielding savings in training and operator hours.
- Data security is improved as mobile units exchange data directly with a central server. The risk of data loss or contamination is greatly reduced when compared with traditional file transfers using desktop PC units.
- Turnaround time is reduced as field data is automatically uploaded to the central database as it is received. There are no processing backlogs or stale data sets waiting for operators to cleanse and load.
- Data security is assured through direct communications handshaking between mobile computers and data servers. Communications are fully logged and data cannot get lost in transit.
